As any observer of nature will tell you, Gig Harbor hosts a wide variety of amazing birds—from ducks to birds of prey.  From the vantage point of this sign, which is located at the Finholm Marketplace viewing platform, many of the species illustrated on this sign can be seen---particularly in the winter season when migrating waterfowl seek a place to rest on their way south.  Birds are an important indicator of what is going on in our environment.
