“The Local Watershed” illustrates
how water is never new, but is constantly being recycled by nature
in the soil, oceans and air. This continuous recycling is called
the “water cycle” and is important in understanding
how to keep our waterways healthy. Because water cycles, what
happens upstream doesn’t get cleaned up when it washes into
the Sound.

you to engage in your own research, join a local watershed
council (ours is called the KGI Watershed Council), and
take the steps outlined on this sign to help keep our
waters healthy.
