Are you a land-lubber but still have a passion for the sea?

Have you ever shared the fascination of finding sea creatures at low tide on Puget Sound shores?

 Do you love wandering along the water's edge, refreshed by your connection to nature and the myriad of life that virtually teams in your back yard?

Are you concerned that the state of the Puget Sound is rapidly declining and wonder how you can become an active part of the solution in preserving it?

Then we would love to assist you in becoming a steward for our threatened environment.

Volunteering on the beach with the Harbor WildWatch's "Get Your Feet Wet" program is fun and rewarding.
We hold naturalist-led touch tank, interpretive, intertidal programs at our public beaches at low tide on scheduled dates throughout the summer.  As a volunteer, you will help set up program equipment, haul some water (as you are able), count visitors, learn about the inhabitants of the second largest estuary in the U.S., and learn about environmental issues facing the Puget Sound.  No experience is necessary. Your commitment must include attending all three volunteer trainings, signing up for a minimum number of beach sessions throughout the summer and a $20 registration fee (covers nametag, training materials, insurance, etc.). You will also be required to purchase our Wildside Book at a reduced fee and a Harbor WildWatch t-shirt ($12-16 depending on style).

In these challenging economic times, volunteering allows you to develop new skills, broaden the scope of your resume and make a valuable contribution to your community.
