The Wetlands Around Us

What exactly is a wetland?  And why are they so important?  Wetlands are really “marvels of nature,” as this sign explains.  They improve water quality, protect homes and natural landscapes from flooding, help prevent shoreline erosion, and supply natural products such as cranberries, rice, medicinal products, and more.  Learn more. Share what you learn.  And above all, have fun doing it.

“The Wetlands Around Us” (2005) can be viewed at the Wilkinson Farm Park on Rosedale Ave.  The sign is posted to the left by a real wetland area!  Have fun visiting the park, and please share what you learn with others.
