Wild Waters in Gig Harbor

Don’t be fooled by the calm surface of our protected Bay. There are amazing things stirring above and below our local waters.  This sign illustrates a simple cross-section of what our bay looks like and a tiny number of the many species that live here.  The pilings that stick out above the water provide man-made habitat for animals like anemones.

Gig Harbor’s WildWaters” interpretive sign was installed in 2005 and is located on the water at Skansie Brothers Park in downtown Gig Harbor.
