Get Your Feet Wet (summer interpretive beach program):

  • 2007 - 42 beach programs, 5396 visitors, 169 volunteer hours, 72 seastar beach hours.
  • 2008 - 62 beach programs, 7874 visitors, 235 volunteer hours, 118 seaStars & Beyond beach hours at 8 beaches.
  • 2009 - 75 beach programs, 7989 visitors, 475 volunteer hours, 251 seaStars & Beyond beach hours at 9 beaches.

HOP: Harbor Outreach Program (a classroom workshop for elementary children)

  • 2008 -  147 workshops, with 2959 student hours in 7 schools. (January - December)
  • 2009 -  320 workshops with 7460 hours in 12 schools. (January - December)

Explore the Beach (a HOP mini-workshop on beach etiquette)
24 programs, 4 schools, 713 students in its pilot year 2006. For 2008, 60 workshops, 8 schools, 1710 students.

seaStars&Beyond: Jr. Naturalist Program (small group hands-on training for kids 8-12)

  • 2007 - program initiated with 12 new seaStars
  • 2008 - 19 new seaStars and 8 sunstars
  • 2009 - 17 new seaStars, 17 sunStars, 8 Jr. Naturalists

Pier into the Night

  • 2009 program initiated with 4 programs, 250 visitors

Sign Projects (public interpretive signs about our local ecosystems)

  • 2008 - 10 signs completed and installed by spring.
