Narrows Beach
 |
| The Narrows Park is one of the peninsula’s best-kept
secrets. Situated on the shores of the Tacoma Narrows and south of the bridge,
the 35-acre park features 1,200 feet of sandy-rock beach - and the best place
to watch construction of the new Narrows Bridge. The Pierce County park underwent
an extensive renovation in 2003 and reopened in June 2004. A paved road takes
visitors inside to the landscaped grounds and beach. A walkway winds toward
a gazebo and the sandy-rock beach. Two telescopes provide beach and bridge
buffs alike a closeup view of the bridge and new construction. |
