seaStars & Beyond
Harbor
WildWatch seaStars are
students ages 8-12 who have demonstrated to a teacher
or a mentor that they have a natural curiosity and interest
in learning. This is a special mini-workshop for
those kids who are REALLY interested in science. We
want to nurture that interest and have fun while we’re
doing it.
seaStars is a summertime hands-on outdoor mini-workshop
that involves a series of workshops and volunteering. After “graduating” from
the workshop part of the program, seaStars volunteer
to help our Harbor WildWatch naturalists on the beach
for part of their training. They are also invited
to a special field trip at the end of the summer.
If you have any further questions, please contact the
seaStars coordinator, Sandy at sandy@HarborWildWatch.org
This year (2008) those children who have graduated from
the seaStars program in the past will be eligible for
the new sunStars program. In
this program, the children will be exploring our
marine environment in depth through four special workshops. They
will also become mentors to the seaStars group as
well as public outreach specialists at the Get Your Feet
Wet events.
