The greater Gig Harbor community offers a variety of eco-tourism opportunities through ample parks, open spaces, and shoreline activities. Many local businesses have adopted environmentally-friendly practices to ensure our local waterways stay clean for all who visit our beautiful peninsulas. Below are a list of eco-tourism options to enjoy when you visit Gig Harbor, from recreation to dining. Parks & Trails

Washington State Parks

Washington is home to some of the best parks in the country - including three state parks located on the Gig Harbor and Key Peninsulas. Visit Kopachuck, Penrose Point or Joemma State Parks to enjoy the trails, shoreline and picnic areas while visiting Gig Harbor.

PenMet Parks

PenMet Parks enhances the quality of life on the Gig Harbor Peninsula through parks, trails and a variety of recreational opportunities. With twelve parks - including two dog parks and one paved trail - there is something for all citizens and visitors at PenMet Parks.

Key Peninsula Parks

Serving the Key Peninsula, Key Pen Parks is committed to the enhancement and preservation of the community's quality of life. With eight parks available to citizens and visitors, Key Pen Park staff strive to provide the highest quality leisure and recreation environment.

Gig Harbor Gondola

Experience a unique way to get out on the water through authentic Venetian rowing. Guests can expect to board an authentic gondola and enjoy a relaxing cruise on our town's beautiful harbor.

Gig Harbor Yachts

Looking for an eco-friendly way to cruise the harbor? Look no further than Gig Harbor Yachts! This local business offers 2-hour rentals of their electric Duffy boats for up to eight people.

Lee's SUP

Each summer, this local business gets residents and visitors out on water. Located near Anthony's Restaurant, they offer single kayak, double kayak and stand-up paddle board rentals.

Ocean 5

This family entertainment center offers bowling, laser tag, arcade games and special events in Gig Harbor. They are the world’s first facility of its kind to earn LEED Silver certification.

Gig Harbor Boatshop

Available in the summer months, this business offers skiffs, canoes, rowboats and electric boat rentals in Gig Harbor Bay. Everyone enjoys this eco-friendly option of cruising the bay!

Harbor WildWatch

Take a guided walking tour through the estuary, wetland or beach with a Harbor WildWatch biologist. These tours are available year, round, free of charge and are perfect for all ages.

Millville Pizza

Gig Harbor's first ocean-friendly restaurant, Millville Pizza is a great place for lunch and dinner. Located in Downtown Gig Harbor, this family-owned restaurant offers a variety of woodfired pizza, salads, wine and beer - all while adhering to the strict Ocean-Friendly Restaurant requirements.

Table 47

Gig Harbor's second ocean-friendly restaurant, Table 47 is an excellent place for upscale lunch and dinner in Gig Harbor. Located in the Ocean5 LEED certified complex, this farm-to-table restaurant offers formal dining and more casual bar atmosphere with a happy hour that benefits local education.

Transportation

Gig Harbor Trolley

In the summer, the trolley is a great alternative to driving around the three shopping districts in Gig Harbor. Running every 30 minutes, look for trolley stop signs along Pierce Transit Route 101. The trolley also connects with other routes at the Kimball Drive Park & Ride.

Pierce Transit Bus Service

Pierce Transit’s Route 100 buses serve Gig Harbor year round. These buses also connect outside of Gig Harbor with the Tacoma Community College Transfer Center and the Purdy Park and Ride. On weekdays, take the express bus route to and from Seattle via Route 595.

Electric Vehicle Charging

Gig Harbor is a friendly place to travel in your electric vehicle. There are four free charging stations located Downtown - located at the Maritime Pier and near the Anthony's Restaurant parking lot. There are also paid stations available in the Uptown Shopping Center.

Washington State Ferries

A ferry ride is a great alternative to driving to and from the Seattle area. Instead of sitting in traffic, enjoy the sights and sounds of Puget Sound while travelling on the country's largest ferry system. Watch for birds, porpoises, and even Orcas during your trip!

Kitsap Airporter

Carpool in style with the Kitsap Airporter! This service provides scheduled and dependable ground transportation to and from SeaTac Airport. There are ten pick-up locations on the Kitsap Peninsula, including two in Gig Harbor.
